Other things to note:
Vegan Community: Our kitchens are dedicated to vegan diet, reflecting our commitment to harmlessness toward animals and promoting the best health for humans and the planet. If you want to eat animals, Eureka Springs has many fine restaurants that cater to all dietary preferences.
The Composting Toilet: Our eco-friendly composting toilet is simple, sustainable, and surprisingly pleasant! Housed in a charming wooden cabinet, it uses a mix of peat moss and wood chips instead of water. After each use, simply add a scoop of this natural material, which creates a fresh, earthy aroma and ensures no unpleasant odors. Your contribution helps us transform waste into rich, fertile soil for our gardens, promoting a full-circle connection with nature. Extra composting material is provided for your convenience.
Pets: We welcome pets and do not have pet fees. Please bring their own sleeping arrangement. Do not have them on the bed. Pick up after them, inside and out.
Country Setting & Nature Notice: Our retreat houses are kept very clean; however, because we are located in rural Arkansas, you may occasionally encounter insects, mice, or other small critters inside or outside the home. We live in close relationship with nature and choose coexistence over chemical control. We maintain cleanliness and use non-toxic methods such as hand removal, traps, vacuums, and fly swatters rather than pesticides.
The presence of flies, bees, ladybugs, mosquitoes, beetles, or other insects is a normal part of country living and is not grounds for a refund. If an unwanted guest appears, we’re happy to come by and help remove it.
